Extra illustrated with colour photocopy of a "Map of the Arctic Exploration from which resulted the first information of Sir John Franklin's missing Party; by John Rae. 1854. Rae was the first to adopt the Eskimo way of life during his explorations, and ate, travelled and lived like the Eskimos: this may be partly responsible for his successful expeditions in the Arctic. Excellent historical introduction, accompanied by Rae's letters written from the Arctic." This copy is No 1122 of a Limited Edition which is issued only to subscribers to The Hudson's Bay Record Society.
